Green Tea Shrimp With Honey and Garlic
With this delicious recipe you'll be using green tea along with some other ingredients to create a mouth watering shrimp dish that will be a welcome change from the usual fried shrimp.
Note - to grind the green tea you can use a coffee grinder or a spice grinder.
For the shrimp marinade you're going to need:
1 pound medium-sized raw shrimp, peeled and de-veined
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 teaspoons soy sauce
For the tea sauce we'll be using:
1/3 cup chicken broth
1 1/2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons oyster-flavored sauce
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoons ground green tea leaves
1/3 cup macadamia nuts
3 cloves garlic, minced
For the marinade:
Mix together the cornstarch and soy sauce, and add the shrimp. Let the shrimp stand for ten minuets
For the sauce:
Combine chicken broth, honey, oyster sauce, sesame oil and cornstarch together and stir until honey dissolves.
Get your pan nice and hot and add the oil and garlic and then the shrimp. Cook for two minuets until the shrimp turn pink then dust the shrimp with the green tea powder - making sure to coat each one evenly.
Then add the sauce to the pan, and reduce over low heat while stirring as the sauce thickens. Just before serving add the nuts.
